S-T35 (3-pole 35 A)
Mitsubishi Electric · S-T series
Mitsubishi S-T35 magnetic contactor — the MS-T/S-T family found in Japanese OEM compressor, chiller and conveyor panels; pairs with TH-T thermal relays.

Coil data
- Available coil voltages
- 24, 100–127, 200–240, 380–440 VAC 50/60 Hz; DC versions (S-T…DC)
- Inrush VA
- ≈ 130 VA
- Sealed (holding) VA
- ≈ 12 VA
- Pickup voltage

Typical measured coil resistance (±15%, ballpark)
24 VAC≈ 4–9 Ω
100/110 VAC≈ 85–190 Ω
200/220 VAC≈ 380–780 Ω
400/440 VAC≈ 1,500–3,000 Ω
OL = open coil · near zero = shorted turns · coil-to-frame must read >1 MΩ.
Coil resistance checker
Pick the coil voltage, enter your meter reading across A1–A2 (coil disconnected), and compare it to the expected ballpark.
Ω
This model (24 VAC table value)4 Ω–9 Ω
Generic mid-frame 24 VAC4 Ω–9 Ω
OL = open coil. 0–2 Ω = shorted turns (often from a cooked transformer). Ballpark only (±15%+); electronic wide-range coils (e.g. ABB AF) read misleading values — test those at rated voltage instead. Always measure coil-to-frame too: must be >1 MΩ.
Terminals & accessories
Power/coil terminals: Screw terminals with finger protection; DIN rail or screw mount
Auxiliary contacts: Built-in 1NO or 1NO+1NC; UT-AX side blocks
Companion overload: TH-T thermal overload relay (direct mount), or MSO-T combination starters

Field notes
- The TH-T thermal relay dial must be set to motor FLA; on 60 Hz service in North America, confirm the heater range covers the actual nameplate.
- Nearly every S-T failure in dusty compressor rooms is a gritty magnet face — clean and re-test before replacing.
- Mitsubishi coils are stamped with the voltage on the side of the frame — read it before ordering, part numbers alone do not show it.
