The world's most common IEC contactor. 9 A AC-3 covers motors to 4 kW/5 HP @ 400 V. Shares the same compact frame with D12–D38, so aux blocks, overloads (LRD) and reversing links all interchange.

OL = open coil. 0–2 Ω = shorted turns (often from a cooked transformer). Ballpark only (±15%+); electronic wide-range coils (e.g. ABB AF) read misleading values — test those at rated voltage instead. Always measure coil-to-frame too: must be >1 MΩ.
Terminals & accessories
Power/coil terminals: Power: 1/L1, 3/L2, 5/L3 in top — 2/T1, 4/T2, 6/T3 out bottom. Coil A1/A2 (A2 duplicated top and bottom). Spring or screw-clamp versions.
Auxiliary contacts: 1 NO built in (terminal 13/14); add LADN front blocks (up to 4 more) or LA8N side blocks
Companion overload: LRD08 (2.5–4 A) or LRD06/LRD07 below that; clips directly under the contactor

Field notes
- A2 appears on BOTH top and bottom — they're the same node, a jumper convenience, not two coils.
- Coil is field-replaceable on D-line: two clips and it slides off. Match the voltage code exactly.
- Green LED add-on (LAD9) is a cheap way to see control state from across the room.
