Field notes
- In a wye-delta panel this frame is usually the delta (run) contactor — it carries 0.58 × FLA continuously, so a hot body here means the transition timer is out of adjustment.
- Torque the box lugs to the label value and re-check after the first heat cycle; loose lugs on this frame are the #1 cause of a burnt T-terminal.
- Chattering on start with good coil resistance points at control-transformer sag, not the contactor.
