NC1-3210 (3-pole 32 A)

CHINT · NC1 series

CHINT NC1-3210 — the budget IEC contactor found in imported compressors, dryers and generator panels. Rated and built to the LC1-D pattern, so it interchanges dimensionally in many panels.

Coil data
Available coil voltages
24, 36, 110, 120, 220, 230, 380, 415 VAC 50/60 Hz
Inrush VA
≈ 130 VA
Sealed (holding) VA
≈ 12 VA
Pickup voltage
0.85–1.1 × rated
Dropout voltage
0.2–0.6 × rated
Typical measured coil resistance (±15%, ballpark)
24 VAC≈ 4–10 Ω
110/120 VAC≈ 100–220 Ω
220/230 VAC≈ 450–900 Ω
380/415 VAC≈ 1,500–3,000 Ω

OL = open coil · near zero = shorted turns · coil-to-frame must read >1 MΩ.

Coil resistance checker

Pick the coil voltage, enter your meter reading across A1–A2 (coil disconnected), and compare it to the expected ballpark.

Ω
This model (24 VAC table value)4 Ω10 Ω
Generic mid-frame 24 VAC4 Ω9 Ω

OL = open coil. 0–2 Ω = shorted turns (often from a cooked transformer). Ballpark only (±15%+); electronic wide-range coils (e.g. ABB AF) read misleading values — test those at rated voltage instead. Always measure coil-to-frame too: must be >1 MΩ.

Terminals & accessories
Power/coil terminals: Screw clamp to 25 mm²
Auxiliary contacts: 1NO+1NC per the '10'/'01' suffix; F4 front blocks
Companion overload: NR2 thermal overload relay direct-mount

Field notes
  • NC1 bodies copy the LC1-D footprint, so a genuine Schneider LC1D32 usually drops straight into the same panel if you want an upgrade.
  • Coil quality is the weak point on low-cost imports — a chattering NC1 with good control voltage is usually a tired coil, replace the whole unit.
  • Verify the UL/CSA marking before using one in a permanent North American installation; many import panels carry CE only.
