Included here because it looks nearly identical to an FHG and gets fitted to compressors by mistake. FSG is the standard Pumptrol water pump switch for jet, submersible and reciprocating pumps. It has no unloader provision and its range is far too low for shop air.

Adjustment
- Range nut plus differential nut, same convention as other Pumptrol switches.
- If you find one of these on a compressor, replace it with an FHG — do not try to crank the range up.
Before you open the cover
Kill power at the disconnect and lock out. Bleed the tank to 0 psi. Never set cut-out above the tank data-plate MAWP. Verify your numbers first in the cut-in / cut-out calculator.
Best fit
- Well pumps and pressure tanks — not compressors
Watch out
- No unloader port means a recip will stall or trip on restart against head pressure.
- FRG reverse-acting switches open on falling pressure and are used for low-pressure protection, not motor control.
