CWB125 (3-pole 125 A)
WEG · CWB 80–125 A frame
Largest of the CWB IEC line at 125 A AC-3 — 75 HP @ 460 V. Above this WEG moves to the CWM150+ / CWMH range.

Coil data
- Available coil voltages
- 24, 110–120, 208–240, 380–415, 440–480 VAC; electronic wide-range standard on many part numbers
- Inrush VA
- ≈ 400 VA
- Sealed (holding) VA
- ≈ 25 VA
- Pickup voltage
- ≥ 80% of rated
- Dropout voltage
- ≈ 40–65% of rated
Typical measured coil resistance (±15%, ballpark)
120 VAC≈ 35–80 Ω
480 VAC≈ 550–1,100 Ω
OL = open coil · near zero = shorted turns · coil-to-frame must read >1 MΩ.
Coil resistance checker
Pick the coil voltage, enter your meter reading across A1–A2 (coil disconnected), and compare it to the expected ballpark.
Ω
This model (120 VAC table value)35 Ω–80 Ω
Generic mid-frame 110–120 VAC60 Ω–180 Ω
Readings 2× high usually mean heat damage and a coil near end of life. Ballpark only (±15%+); electronic wide-range coils (e.g. ABB AF) read misleading values — test those at rated voltage instead. Always measure coil-to-frame too: must be >1 MΩ.
Terminals & accessories
Power/coil terminals: Bus-bar / lug to 95 mm² / 3/0 AWG
Auxiliary contacts: 2 built-in; up to 6 with blocks
Companion overload: Electronic motor protection relay recommended at this size

Field notes
- At 125 A, cable termination torque and lug material (Al vs Cu) matter more than the contactor — re-torque annually.
- Wye-delta sets: line and delta at 0.58 × FLA, wye at 0.33 × FLA — a matched trio of CWB125s is over-spec but common on OEM panels.
- Feel the body after an hour of run time; anything you can't hold your hand on means a loose connection or an undersized frame.
