OL = open coil. 0–2 Ω = shorted turns (often from a cooked transformer). Ballpark only (±15%+); electronic wide-range coils (e.g. ABB AF) read misleading values — test those at rated voltage instead. Always measure coil-to-frame too: must be >1 MΩ.

Field notes
  • CWB9 and CWB12 share the same body and accessories — if you only have a CWB12 on the truck it drops straight in for a CWB9.
  • Direct-mount RW27D overload clips on without wire jumpers; make sure the dial is set to motor nameplate FLA, not the contactor rating.
  • A 120 V coil reading under ~100 Ω on this frame is a shorted winding — the coil will pull in then cook the control transformer.
