Sullair Supervisor / WS Controller

The Supervisor is Sullair's current-generation display and is largely backward compatible with WS-era sensor wiring. Watch for 'Change Separator' triggering falsely on cold start when Sullube is thick — recheck after 30 min of run time.

Common fault codes
First checks
  • Check fluid level (Sullube or AWF)
  • Clean cooler and check thermal valve
  • Verify fan motor operation
First checks
  • Replace air filter
  • Check inlet valve for restriction
  • Reset service counter
First checks
  • Replace fluid filter
  • Sample fluid for contamination
First checks
  • Replace separator element
  • Change fluid and filter as full service
  • Verify scavenge line and orifice clean
First checks
  • Check unload setpoint vs system demand
  • Verify inlet valve closes
  • Confirm blowdown works and MPCV holds
First checks
  • Verify inlet valve opens
  • Check for major leak in airend-to-separator loop
  • Verify blowdown closed
First checks
  • Reset overload, verify class 20 or 30 setting
  • Check phase voltage & balance
  • Look for airend drag
First checks
  • Free fan; check bearings
  • Verify fan contactor & OL setting
First checks
  • Release local E-stop and check remote loop
  • Verify safety chain jumper if not used
  • Confirm 24 V on E-stop input
First checks
  • Verify all 3 phases at disconnect
  • Check phase monitor relay
  • Swap any two phases for rotation
First checks
  • Check wiring & polarity
  • Test sensor against reference
  • Replace sensor if drift confirmed
First checks
  • Perform the specific service kit
  • Reset only the completed timer

Fault list is non-exhaustive and firmware-dependent. Always confirm against the controller’s on-screen help or OEM manual.

Wiring notes
  • 24 VDC control, 120 VAC contactor coils typical on North American units
  • Sullair Sullube fluid required for LS/TS — do not substitute mineral oil without derating
  • Star-delta starter timing set at controller; verify open transition < 100 ms on retrofit
  • Sensor cabling shielded and grounded at controller end only
Terminal & connector map

Pinouts distilled from OEM wiring diagrams. Exact silk-screen labels and pin numbering vary by hardware revision and package options — always confirm against the machine’s as-built wiring diagram before landing a wire.

Known issues & field notes
  • 'Change Separator' false alarm on cold Sullube — recheck after 30 min of run time
  • AirLinx cellular gateway loses 3G; replace with LTE variant
  • Supervisor screen dimming after firmware update — recalibrate backlight in service
Retrofit notes

WS → Supervisor retrofit is a common upgrade path on LS-16 through LS-25S. Sensor loom compatible on most builds; verify motor thermistor wiring class.
