HISCREW NEXT III controller
The PQ-widening control is genuinely different from load/unload — before 'fixing' odd unload behavior, confirm which control mode the machine is parameterized for.
Manufacturer
Hitachi Global Air Power
Display
Color LCD with soft keys; Japanese/English; PQ-widening control screens.
Years produced
~2016 – present on OSP Next III oil-flooded and DSP oil-free series.
Power supply
24 VDC logic, battery-backed clock.
Ambient range
0 – 45 °C.
Protection rating
IP54 front.
Relay outputs
Starter outputs, unload solenoid, purge valve, dryer, alarm, auto-restart.
Used on
- Hitachi OSP-22/37/55/75 Next III
- DSP oil-free two-stage series
Features
- PQ control widens the usable pressure band at part load for energy savings
- ECONAVI multi-unit coordination without a separate master
- Detailed load-factor history screens
- Oil-free DSP purge and condensate logic integrated
Interfaces
- Modbus RTU option
- Hitachi multi-unit ECONAVI sequencing link
- Dry contact remote
Sensor inputs
- Stage discharge temperatures (PT100)
- Package pressure transducer
- Intercooler pressure (two-stage)
- Motor temperature contacts
Fault code lookup
First checks
- Oil level and cooler
- Thermal valve
- Stage balance on two-stage — a single hot stage points at that stage's valve/cooler
First checks
- Second-stage inlet valve
- Intercooler fouling
- Pressure transducer
First checks
- Amps vs plate
- Supply balance
- Rotation free
First checks
- Purge valve actuation
- Condensate drains
- Sequence timer page shows the failed step
First checks
- Loop checks per sensor
- Connector seating after wash-down
Fault list is non-exhaustive and firmware-dependent. Always confirm against the controller’s on-screen help or OEM manual.
Sensor pin resistance & signal values
Pin-level resistance and signal values for the sensor types this controller uses. Works offline. De-energise the panel and lift one lead before ohming any element.
Wiring notes
- ECONAVI link uses a proprietary pair — do not mix with the Modbus option terminals
- Two-stage machines have two discharge sensors; label both before removal
- Remote start/stop input is dry contact, maintained
Known issues & field notes
- English language pack on early imports is incomplete in the deep menus — firmware update from Hitachi adds full translation
- Condensate logic faults on DSP units in humid climates usually trace to drain valve maintenance, not the controller
Maintenance codes via Hitachi distribution.
