ELGi Neuron II

Feature and menu detail follow the publicly published Neuron II user manual. Codes and setpoints vary by firmware version and package — always confirm against the panel and the machine manual.

Manufacturer
ELGi Equipments
Display
Backlit LCD with membrane keys and status LEDs
Power supply
Package control transformer, commonly 24 V or 110/230 V depending on build
Replaced by
ELGi Neuron XT on current builds
Used on
  • ELGi EN series
  • ELGi E series screw packages
  • Various ELGi OEM builds
On AirCompDX
Features
  • Pre-programmed compressor logic: load/unload, auto stop-start, continuous run
  • Pressure schedule (dual pressure band) and weekly scheduler
  • Fault report, day report, service-time and cumulative-hour views
  • Sensor calibration and relay test menus under a service password
  • VFD page on variable-speed packages
  • Local / remote / DCS mode selection and auto-restart flag on the main screen
Interfaces
  • RS-485 Modbus RTU
  • Digital I/O
  • Remote start/stop
  • Sequencing / load-share inputs
Sensor inputs
  • Discharge pressure transducer
  • Airend discharge RTD
  • Optional sump pressure and dryer inputs
Fault code lookup
First checks
  • Check fluid level at running temperature
  • Clean the cooler face and check cabinet airflow
  • Verify the thermostatic valve is stroking
  • Ohm the RTD and compare against a PT100 table
First checks
  • Compare the overload setting with the motor nameplate FLA
  • Read running amps on all three phases for imbalance
  • Check Y-Δ transition timing
  • Look for a restricted separator raising sump pressure
First checks
  • Verify all three phases at the disconnect
  • Check rotation against the airend arrow
  • Swap two line phases if rotation is wrong
  • Test the phase monitor relay
First checks
  • Check the load solenoid and blowdown for a stuck-loaded condition
  • Calibrate the transducer against a known gauge in the Neuron calibration menu
  • Inspect the minimum pressure valve
First checks
  • Inspect the plug for water and corrosion
  • Measure loop current: below 3.8 mA or above 20.5 mA is a wiring or sensor fault
  • Substitute a known-good sensor before recalibrating
First checks
  • Perform the service that is actually due
  • Reset only that counter in the maintenance menu
  • Confirm intervals match the fluid grade in use
First checks
  • Release and twist out the E-stop
  • Check the remote safety loop or jumper
  • Confirm control voltage at the safety input

Fault list is non-exhaustive and firmware-dependent. Always confirm against the controller’s on-screen help or OEM manual.

Sensor pin resistance & signal values

Pin-level resistance and signal values for the sensor types this controller uses. Works offline. De-energise the panel and lift one lead before ohming any element.

Wiring notes
  • Control supply comes from the package transformer — verify the tag voltage before probing the board
  • RS-485 Modbus pair daisy-chained, 120 Ω termination at the two physical ends only
  • Shielded sensor cable bonded at the panel end only
  • Remote start/stop is a volt-free contact input — do not apply external voltage to it
Known issues & field notes
  • Menu structure and fault wording differ between Neuron II firmware versions — an older manual may not match the panel
  • Transducer calibration drifts after a wet-air event; recalibrate against a gauge rather than replacing parts first

Operator settings are open; calibration, relay test and factory pages sit behind a service password documented in the machine's own manual or issued by the ELGi distributor. Passwords can be changed from the operator menu on many builds.
