CP ES3000 / ES4000

ES-series shares hardware architecture with Atlas Copco Elektronikon Mk4 (shared parent). Many sensors and harnesses cross-reference to AC part numbers with a CP label.

Fault code lookup
First checks
  • Reset overload
  • Verify FLA & phase balance
  • Test PTC continuity
First checks
  • Unload setpoint & deadband
  • Inlet valve closure
  • Check for stuck load solenoid
First checks
  • Verify 3 phases
  • Swap 2 phases for rotation
  • Check phase-monitor relay
First checks
  • Inspect wiring & polarity
  • Test sensor against reference

Fault list is non-exhaustive and firmware-dependent. Always confirm against the controller’s on-screen help or OEM manual.

Sensor pin resistance & signal values

Pin-level resistance and signal values for the sensor types this controller uses. Works offline. De-energise the panel and lift one lead before ohming any element.

Wiring notes
  • 24 VDC control from onboard PSU
  • Contactor coils typically 24 VDC on smaller frames, 120 VAC on 50 hp+
  • RS-485 requires 120 Ω termination at each end
Known issues & field notes
  • ES3000 LCD backlight fades after ~7 years — replaceable as a module
  • PT100 harness clips at the airend loosen from vibration — a common intermittent shutdown source

Setup / service menu is protected by a 4-digit PIN, default 0000 on ES3000 and 2311 on ES4000 — change on commissioning.

Field tips (web-sourced)

Distilled from public OEM manuals and community technician references. Cross-check the on-machine service manual before commissioning.

Menu / access
  • Enter key drills into the current menu; up/down scroll; ESC backs out one level.
  • Password prompt uses up/down to increment each digit; Enter accepts.
  • Reset service timers: Main → Data menu → Service → enter password → select timer → Reset.
Publicly-documented codes
User (operator) — widely published
2801
Reset service timers (public reference)
9989

Codes here are widely published in public OEM literature. If a machine has been re-coded at commissioning, these will not work — call the distributor.

Field gotchas
  • ES4000 Basic vs Advanced share the parameter tree — Advanced adds the graphical trend view and USB export.
  • 'Auto restart after voltage failure' is enabled by default from the factory — verify site policy before commissioning in occupied spaces.
  • The USB service port is behind the front cover; unit will refuse to log to an unformatted (or NTFS) stick — use FAT32.
