Four-port Furnas build with adjustable differential

All pressure switches

69JF7LY

The four-port sibling of the 69MB. The manifold body carries the gauge, ASME relief valve, unloader line and tank tapping, so the switch becomes the whole control head on a shop recip.

Specifications

Action

Adjustable range
Common builds 95/125 and 120/150
Differential
Adjustable on most JF builds, typically 20–40 psi (adjustable)
Factory settings
Cut-in 95 psi / cut-out 125 psi typical
Ports
Four-port manifold: 1/4 in. NPT tank inlet, gauge, relief valve and unloader
Unloader
Integral, with pilot line fitting
Lever / disconnect
Auto/off lever on LY builds
Enclosure
NEMA 1
Temperature
-22 °F to 257 °F

Electrical

  • DPST power circuit, roughly 15–20 A depending on build
  • Two conduit knockouts

Size against motor full-load amps with the motor amperage calculator, and check feeder sizing with the voltage drop calculator.

Adjustment

  1. Set cut-out with the range nut, then the differential nut for the gap.
  2. Because the relief valve threads into the same manifold, verify it after every switch swap — cross-threading here is common.
Before you open the cover

Kill power at the disconnect and lock out. Bleed the tank to 0 psi. Never set cut-out above the tank data-plate MAWP. Verify your numbers first in the cut-in / cut-out calculator.

Best fit

  • Shop recips where the switch is the control manifold
  • Replacing a leaking manifold and switch as one assembly

Watch out

  • The manifold is a leak path. Use thread sealant rated for air, not tape fragments that end up in the unloader.
