Operating principle

The compression chamber has no liquid lubricant. PTFE/graphite piston rings, coated rotors, or dry-running screws provide dry running. Sealed bearings outside the compression chamber handle motion.

Efficiency notes

Lower mechanical efficiency than lubricated (friction is higher), but eliminates downstream oil-removal costs and contamination risk.

Required where air quality Class 0 (oil-free) is mandated: food, pharma, electronics, breathing air, paint.
