Specs & intervals below are from publicly published OEM literature and long-standing field practice. Torque values, exact revision-dated part numbers, and safety-critical settings vary by serial number — always cross-check the unit’s OEM manual and nameplate before ordering parts or performing service.
- ISO 100 non-detergent mineral (short interval)
Head bolts torqued in cross pattern to OEM spec sheet; flywheel torque per model. Belt: ½" deflection midspan.
Always verify torque values against the OEM service manual for the specific serial number.

- Check crankcase oil level
- Drain tank moisture
- Listen for valve tick / knock
- Verify unloader operates on cut-out
- Change crankcase oil (mineral) or verify PAO/synthetic at manufacturer interval
- Clean or replace inlet filter
- Check belt tension & sheave alignment
- Torque head bolts to spec if any weeping
- Pull head; inspect reed/disc valves and seats
- Check ring gap and cylinder wear
- Torque head bolts to OEM spec in cross pattern
- Test safety valve
- Inspect crankshaft & rod bearings on splash-lube units
- Top-end rebuild (rings, valves, gaskets)
- Inspect rod bearings and crank end play
- Verify aftercooler condensate drain
- Slow to build past 150 psi — valve wear
- Excessive interstage moisture — undersized aftercooler for duty
- Belt squeal — sheave alignment or worn belts
- Oil in air line — worn rings or overfilled crankcase
- Pressure-lube pumps require oil pump priming after long shutdowns
- Aftermarket valve plates cause premature interstage moisture — use OEM Quincy
- Splash-lubricated or pressure-lubricated (frame dependent) with strong duty rating
- Widely available parts
- Long service life on synthetic fluid
- Warranty stands behind pump
- Loud without enclosure
- No integrated controller — pressure switch only
QT-5/7.5 are splash-lubricated; QT-10/15/25 are pressure-lubricated with oil pump. Popular commercial-duty recip.
