Grounded compressor windings

CheckMegger windings to ground. <0.5 MΩ = compressor grounded.
FixReplace compressor; flush lines, replace filter-drier, evacuate to 500 µm, weigh in charge.

Wrong breaker size or fatigued breaker

CheckCompare breaker to nameplate MAX fuse/breaker on data plate.
FixInstall HACR breaker matching nameplate. Never oversize.

Wiring fault / chafed conductor

CheckInspect whip from disconnect to unit. Look for rodent damage, abrasion at knockouts.
FixRe-run whip with proper bushings.
Safety

Pull the disconnect and lock out before opening HVAC equipment. Discharge dual-run capacitors before handling. Refrigerant recovery and brazing require EPA 608 certification and proper PPE.
