Most mechanical switches (Square D 9013, Condor MDR, Lefoo) have a large range spring nut that moves both cut-in and cut-out together, and a small differential nut that moves only the cut-out. Adjust in small steps and verify with an accurate gauge.
1
Range nut and differential nut confused
infoCheckLarge spring/nut (range): clockwise raises BOTH cut-in and cut-out. Small spring/nut (differential): clockwise raises cut-out only, widening the band. Turning the wrong one shifts the band in ways you didn't expect.
FixReturn to baseline: set the range nut first to get the cut-in right, then use differential to set the cut-out. Cycle 3 times to confirm.
SafetyCut-out must remain below the tank's max working pressure and safety-valve setting. Power OFF before putting hands inside the switch.

Switch beyond its range
lowCheckYou're trying to set 175 psi on a switch rated 140 psi max.
FixOrder the correct range switch (high-pressure two-stage units commonly need 145–175 psi switches).

Tank gauge inaccurate
lowCheckCompare tank gauge with a calibrated test gauge. Cheap gauges drift ±10–20 psi.
FixReplace the gauge, then re-set the switch.

Lockout/tagout before opening enclosures. Verify zero energy. Bleed system pressure before opening any pneumatic connection.
