Belts slipping under start load
medCheckWith LOTO applied, check deflection — about 1/64" per inch of span at 4–5 lb push.
FixRe-tension to spec; re-tension again after the first 8 run hours on new belts.

Glazed belts or worn sheave grooves
medCheckLay a new belt in the groove — if it sinks below the top of the groove the sheave is worn out.
FixReplace sheaves and belts together as a matched set.

Oil or coolant contamination on the belts
medCheckLook for a wet, shiny belt surface and trace the leak above the drive.
FixFix the leak, clean the sheaves, fit new belts — contaminated belts cannot be saved.

Compressor starting loaded
